The client had a dark and dingy top floor flat, with long corridors, low ceilings and brown walls.
The roof was exposed to provide a double height living space with automatic windows introduced to capture the south facing sun.
Natural daylight was brought in to both new internal bathrooms.
The interiors were designed for light, sound and vision. All materials, fittings and fixtures have been carefully chosen to enhance this contemporary space.
Eco file: The design incorporated solar panels to service energy efficient a low temperature Underfloor heating system throughout. Solatubes provide natural daylight to the 2 internal bathrooms and the closed entrance hall reducing the requirement for artificial lighting. The use of additional roof lights to the main space, also reduce the overall lighting energy consumption. Slimlite glazing was used in single glazed sash frames, providing current regulation insulation values.
