The mews entrance cut through half of our client's property and deprived him of a garden. We filled in the gaps and gave him light, space and outdoor space. Now the sum of the parts makes a whole.
With a cut off ground floor, and a temporary store at the rear, the house was deprived of light and space. We reconfigured the ground floor to produce an inviting entrance hall with cloakroom, utility room and self contained home office. The first floor became the living floor with full width Living room, a dining room and kitchen breakfast room leading out to a full width sun terrace.
With a loft conversion we were able to provide 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, thus creating a contemporary family home.
Eco file: Energy efficient low temperature Underfloor heating was used in all communal spaces, a dual coil water cylinder installed to take heat from solar panel units and topped up with conventional when required. Low voltage and energy efficient lighting used along with additional roof lights to increase natural daylight.
